Acts of Service-A Love Language

We’ve all heard about the “five languages of love”. One is “acts of service.” I have many “love languages.” But I know with my entire being, that acts of service is at the core of my existence. It’s what drives me to empower women, support them, and assist them in every way.

As women, we have the power to be servant leaders-in our relationships, families, communities, and world. I also learned that one of the best healing and recovery strategies is to get out of oneself, the depression, and grief is to be involved in serving others.

I’ve been a military spouse for over 10 years. Service is ingrained in our family. I’ve volunteered for numerous committees, positions, and activities. In some ways, service is a no-brainer but we all need a reminder and sometimes, a kick in the a— to actually get out and do something!

We all have our passions and causes. You just need to listen to those whispers that tell you that you can help, you have a purpose, and then, start…even if it’s with baby steps.

I’m particularly committed to infant loss and miscarriage awareness. It stems from my personal experiences and it’s what turned my pain into purpose. I realized that the resources are sometimes missing or unknown for women going through these unfathomable losses. Yet also, I have found so many women who, like I did, feel alone, unsupported, devastated, and hopelessly swallowed in the worst grief ever during one of the most difficult chapters of their lives. Wanting to make a difference, I ask that you join me, whether you have sustained such losses or not, we as women can be there for each other and make sure the necessary support is provided and directed.

With my publisher, Susan Sember, I am hosting teas-the first being in Washington, D.C.-in various cities across the country, in accompaniment with my book releases, to benefit infant loss, as well as another cause I’m passionate about which is the support of military spouses. We also have an upcoming candlelight vigil for women who have had the loss of an infant and/or suffered miscarriages. The teas and vigil are private, by-invitation only events. We ask you to come and we’d love to meet you. Please reach out and send me a message through this website for more information and details.

Sending love and in service to you,

Nicole
